I guess it may be interesting piece of news for some: AFV Club's 1/35 scale Tiger I Ausf.E (latest model) kit is out now in Taiwan. Catalogue number is AF35079, suggested retail price 850 NT$.

This means that it arrived on the Taiwanese market at the same moment as Dragon's initial model Tiger I.

Hi, Thanks for the photo and the information. Be interesting to see if this kit comes up to the detail standards of the other releases that this company has come out with in the past. If so, this will be a very gartifying kit to have and build.
Thanks and take care, Sgirty

I've found this new Tiger kit on website of MPK Taiwan shop (
http://www.mpk.com.tw) in the list of new arrivals. The website is in Chinese, so I don't understand anything of what is written there other than the fact that they now have this kit in stock

Well, the time is near. Time to see if AFV Club can match Dragon's early Tiger. If they can, we are in for a stupendous treat. I guess Tamiya's foray into 1/48 is starting to make sense. The Big T must have had some moles at Dragon and AFV Club and they saw the writing on the wall.

I believe this IS AFV Club's website - I could be mistaken as I cannot read Chinese.

AFV Club don't have their own website which is why covering them in news stories is so damned difficult...Jim

That is by far the ugliest Sherman yet. Looks too much like a Tiger. They need make a lot of improvements before I'll get that kit.

I just put in an order for one of these bad boys this morning - I'm anxious to see it and jump into it as soon as it arrived. I've never done a Panther or Tiger before - it's high-time to give 'em a go!

Seeing this & DML's new Tiger just makes me ill. I swore off the big cats and sold off all kits & in depth references I had on them years ago. These just look so cool!!!

Jim, only a few centuries ago, a remark like that would have had the inquisitors reaching for the matches and the dry kindling... I have noticed that these heretical statements have become quite common on the site in the last day or two... Only yesterday, I was checking and comparing prices on the DML Tiger...

Well, I've always thought the denizens of Armorama are trend-setters!

It's time to buck the trends again...
I like the DML "Kitty" too - it's intriguing with all that stuff in the box. Like a Hamster, I just can't resist getting an "Uber-Tiger" too.
I think Armorama's trend-bucking, though, is found in that our members build models instead of endless discussion about merits of little plastic pieces on a sprue tree.
I'm hoping to learn a lot about the Tiger by seeing our active membership BUILD the dang kits!
Hint - not so subtle - Hint!

Well, as it's confession time, i've just ordered one of the DML 251/21s (Drilling).. I am self-justifying this purchase by telling myself it's going to painted up as a captured example :-) :-) - Fat chance! As this will be the first 251 I have built in 20+ years.... However, I still believe that OD is a color for gentlemen... Jim
