Yes, M55 8" SP howitzer. Looking good. Hope you get to kit level. I would love an accurate one. There are a couple of the old Renwal 1/32 ones on E-bay, they go for ungodly amounts. Wish there was a good 1/35 model, demand is there, just not the product.

Hi,
It's an M55 8" Self-Propelled Howitzer. Can't wait to see it done. I'm a self propelled arty fan and look forward to updates.

Hi
Thanks & yes it is the M55 SPG
I have to have the HULL completed everything including the spade by no later than the first week in MARCH.
Turret and the markings for , USA, GERMAN.ITALIAN,BELGUIMS Plus full interior by the end of APRIL .
To have first Castings on show & possible for sale at Euro.
i am glad you picked up on the old Revell kit besides being dimensionally wrong in several places it is also based on the one at Aberdeen which is the T55 which is slightly different, luckily i have some measurements from three others.
I will keep you posted

Ossie:
Full interior - Oyf!
Except for the innards, I think you could make it an M53 155mm with just a new barrel and maybe a travel lock - I'd have to check the TMs.
I have the manufacturing drawings for the M46 155mm gun tube (is that the correct model?) if you are interested.
I'd be interested in this kit, but I'll have to admit that if cost more than $100 US, I probably wouldn't get one. . .

Great ,Ossie,
Armor modelers need the mid 50's SPGs and odd tanks.
I had one of those old Revell kits.It was bad,but at least it existed.I think that vehicle could have different tubes put in in the same hull/turret combination.

I bought the Revell History Makers reissue about 10 years ago. Don't think I paid more than $10-15 for it. Cool looking vehicle. I took several shots of the restored display one at Aberdeen last year. They are located here: https://armorama.kitmaker.net/photos/showgallery.php?cat=12993&password=

hi all
thank you for the kind comments it gives me insperation to get on with it now.
ok the M53's were converted in to M55.
i have been looking at the TM's & my 300 pictures
the main differances externaly is the Barrel & Gun Tube .
internal is the ammo racks and the lack of the overhead hoist.
if some body sends me by email the measurements of the M46 155mm barrel then i would include one. but not the interior.
by the way i have posted some pictures of a real one now in my gallery.
thanks
