I was wondering if anyone had any info on the M4A3E2 Sherman, specifically the 756th Tank Battalion of the 31st Infantry Division operating in Alsace, FRance in Jan. of 1945.

Also any pics of the interior of a Sherman would be appreciated.

Thanks

Matt

First, here are some pics of the Jumbo...

As for the 756th, let us all know about this unit if you could...they served with the 34th ID in Italy before being sent off to France, always like to see them in use.

O.K. From "Steel Victory" It says "Activated(originally as a light tank batt.)on 6-1-41 at Fort Lewis, WA. Landed in N. Afr.-1-24-43,Ita. 9-7-43 and s. Fra.8-15-44.Companies A-B equipped with D.D. tanks for landings near St.Tropaz.Drove to Belfort gap with 3d Inf. Div. Fought in Colmar Pocket Jan-Feb. 45. Supported 3d Div. in late March through Siegfried line and across Rhine near Worms, crossing on Mar.26. Company C supported crossing with D.D. tanks. Participated on Nurnberg17-20 April. Attacked south through Augsburg and Munich, formed part of spearhead that seized Berchtesgaden and Salsberg inearly May 1945" Thats about the best I could do. There were other ref. but this was the most concise.
