Anyone have any idea if the new Verlinden T-62 interior/battle damage set would fit into a Tamiya T-55, or Trumpeter Type -69? Also, how different does the T-55/Type-69 interior look from a T-62 interior? Here is the new Verlinden set:
Looks pretty good, descent price, about $39.00.

Good question, I beleive that all T-62 use an auto-loader, while T-55 did not. I am not a modern tank buff, so don't quote me on this one.

The T-64 was the first Soviet tank with an auto loader. It didn't work too well, hence it was not widely used and not exported.Good question, I beleive that all T-62 use an auto-loader, while T-55 did not. I am not a modern tank buff, so don't quote me on this one.

I thought it was the T-64 that had the auto loader...though admittedly I don't know much about the T-62 .

Hey Gino,
No, do not use that T-62 interior for a T-55.
If you need to open the T-55, let me know as I have pics and will be back at a private museum for some more shots of these two and that 2S7.
Later,
Dave

Good afternoon Gino,
There are some noticeable ammunition stowage, turret floor and breech block differences between the T-55(100mm) and T-62(115mm) tanks interiors. The T-62 was also equiped with an automatic spent shell ejection system for the main gun. It still used the PVT Mk 1 for loading though. If you are going to BBQ the tank insides then maybe it will not matter too much how it is configuered. Two good photo references: Soviet T-62, Grenadier Publishing, authored by Michael D.Bishop and Pat Stansell. T-62, Full Detail series, authored by Ed Gilbert and Allen Swan. I have seen both publications(used) at vendors tables this past year. Mike sends . . . . .

Mike,
Thanks. Yeah, I was thinking about torching the interior, in an Iraqi scene. By the way, I think I met you and your brother at TamiyaCon last year. My M123A1C w/M15A1 trailer won Director's Choice Award.

Good evening Gino,
Yes we did meet last year. That truck/trailer and Duster you built are awesome. Look forward to seeing more of your work. Good luck with the burned up T-55. Mike sends . . . .
