Tony Greenland once said that a flat model is a dead model.
Now I've seen dullcoat flat spray and gloss varnish, but can anybody tell me of a brand of spray satin finish for my tank?

Paul,
Testors makes a laquer satin finish. If you want to go acrylic Vallejo makes a satin clear, and I have found if you thin Tamiya clear X-22 about 50% it goes on satin.

I read Greenlands book too last week and when I saw your topic I jumped right on it.
Please let me know what your results are?
I'm working on a Tiger tank and want a satin finish as well.

Satin, or semi gloss, as far as I understand is a finish that is in between completely matt and gloss.
Gloss=very shiny, highly reflecting light. (Such as seen on a new car for example)
Matt =the exact opposite, also called "Dull"..hmm.. a rusted exhaust pipe is one example I can come up with as a general description.
Please correct me if I am wrong, I really need to know that.
