Does anyone have an opinion on the different brass sets available? Specifically Eduard and Aber? I'm thinking of ordering a set for my Tamiya Tiger II. It looks like the Aber comes with fenders and alot of other parts, but the eduard, the fenders are a completly different set. I've only used Eduard a couple of times, and liked them alot, easy to use, bend, etc. How does Aber compare? Thanks in advance....

I've used both Aber and Eduard. Abers sets are a little overwhelming. They give you stuff you didn't really know you needed. Eduards are alittle more toned down. Both produce quality sets, so its up to you to decide. I personally am staying with Eduard because the Aber set I used on my M4A1 was "Oh My God Look At All the Tiny Pieces" overwhelming and I didn't use at least a third of the set. Either way you cannot go wrong on the selection.HTH

I'm not sure which version of the King Tiger you are building (Henschel or Porsche turret), but I am currently working on a Porsche turret one. I am using Royal Model's new photoetch set and it is actually very good, better than their older stuff (which there wasn't really anything wrong with in the first place), especially with the tool brackets I think. Royal Model sets also tend to be quite a bit less expensive than Aber and Eduard.

Do you have web site that sells Royal Model? Never seen them at most web stores I go to. Have heard they are pretty good, tho.

Hi There
While i've never used Royal model or Aber pe sets i have used pe from Eduard,Airwaves and Accurate Armour and i will say this , all the sets have somethings that are different on them amd some that are the same so just be careful that you don't end up with 4 sets (for example) of mudflaps.I have some Academy warrior mCV's that have etched brass from all 3 aforementioned companies on them so thats how i found out.

Bribo,
Here are a couple of places to get Royal Models stuff in the US:
Michigan Discount Models
Chesapeake Model Designs
Great Models
I would recommend going with Michigan Discount Models as he is great to deal with and has really good prices. I like Aber, Eduard, and Royal Models stuff. It all depends on what you are looking for. Eduard gives you everything you need to detail the vehicle, Royal Models gives you the same stuff as Eduard typically, but they also give some nice resin bits as well, and Aber gives you everything you need (and don't need) to super detail the tank. I agree with Chief that the Aber sets can be a bit overwhelming, but you have to put them into perspective. They cost the same as Eduard so if you can decide to only use the parts that you feel comfortable working with and not use the rest. Don't feel like you absolutely have to use everything.
