My nine year old daughter has built a few models now. This is her second all glue build. It is the Tamiay M151A2 that she built as a civilian vehicle loaded up for a camping trip. She built the whole thing herself, with a little help from dad. She even did most of the painting, to include details. I'm very proud of her. She is quite talented (in my opinion, I may be biased) and has a really steady hand for a nine year old. Hope you like it.
Comments, concerns, ladyes and complaints welcome. Go easy though, it is only about her 4th model.

Wow, I gave my 10 year old bro a shot at modeling some roman figures and he failed misurably. Your daughter has potential. I love the sprite box. Keep her interested in this type of art. Maybe someday shell be making money off it???

The Sprite box is my own creation. I did a sheet with Sprite, Mountain Dew, Coke, Pepsi, etc. If anyone is interested, send me an email and I will forward the sheet to you. They are laid out just like MRE or ration boxes are where you simply cut, fold, and glue them together.
As for the accolades on the model, Monica says thank you. She enjojed building it.

Great work for one so young. I like the dog. Is that weathering I see on the wheel rims?
I remember when my daughter shared the hobby. We had great times building cars and airplanes together.
Then she went and grew up.
Discovered boys.
Started dating.
Started DRIVING.
Continued DATING.
Sharing a hobby with a child is a great way to spend time. Enjoy it. Nurture it. Perhaps it will keep the boys at bay.

Gosh darn dandy work there little Miss 'wee' Arty!!
I especially like your choice of a red Jeep since I happen to own a red Jeep . And since I've got a couple of small dings in mine, the paint job on yours outshines mine.
I must also add that your careful balance of flat colours for the tyres and seats as opposed to your nifty gloss red paint work is very accurate. I also approve of your choice of Sprite for refreshment 'Wee'Arty, since I'm sure Dad appreciates it having 'no' caffiene....
And lastly, your pioneer tool (shovel) is very well done....in fact it's better than any of mine. Maybe you can share your technique with us one of these days?
All in all, a superb piece of work you should be proud of !!
Tread.
btw......what's the dog's name?

One more note I think the sprite was dads drink, I also seen a 12 pack Of mountain Dew, and I am sure thats what she drinks, I know my neice loves the stuff

That build is beautiful. I like the imagination put into it.
And that is a superb work for a 9 year old. She has the talent, Heavy Arty, and it's itching to be developed. Why, she can do an art job wwwwwaaaaaaaayyyyy better than I did when I was in my school days.
Superb!

Great job on it. She has some serious talent there
I remember my first model at age 8 and it doesn't come close to her effort.

Tell her great job. I brought my daughter to one of the local shows where she entered about 12 kits she had built during our stay in Massachusetts. She ended up winning three awards (Dixon66 told me it should have been 4, an adult had built a kit for a child who won an award) and it pumped up her desire to build better kits.
Currently she is working on a Fine Molds caricature figure of a Desert Storm female soldier called "Sandy".

HeavyArty;
Looks like your going to have some competion in your next contest you go too. And if she's only 9 and she has a teacher like you as mentor. You'll take 1st & 2nd in contest for years to come.
Her paint job is increditable I don't see any brush marks or glue spots either. Did she sand any of it herself because that rear tire is awsome you can't even tell it was glued together with glue.Theres also no glue marks on the windshield like most young people or beginners do.
I can't tell if it was weathered or not. Now it's time you have to show her the next wonderful art of a dio and it's wonders of telling a story through her wonderful build.
Happy Modeling

PS; Did she join are wonderfull club family yet.

Wow, that's fantastic! My little girl is 6 months old and I simply can't wait!! Someone commented to me the other day "I guess you won't be doing the models, RC, etc. with your kid", assuming that since she is a girl...why not I said?! Proof is here with your daughter's work. Not only boys are into modeling! Fantastic work!
