thanks for the compliments, guys. I started this one back in March of '04 - what can I say, I am a touch SLOW. :-) I only have one reference, which is my Squadron/ Signal DUKWs in Action. I don't really go off the deep end on fixing stuff or superdetailing. What I HAVE done is stuff, that was obviously wrong to me and was well within my abilities to fix. As you can see it is mostly oob. All my gap plugging, sanding ,and filing has removed some rivets that now demand to be replaced, however, that is where I am stuck as I can't seem to get replacements on without losing over half and making a mess.

I intend to fill the DUKW up with a mixture of "Tamiyakins" :-) left over from my failed M3A2 project & miscellanious bits here & there.

Rivets. Alex when I built the Panzerfahre, i had to destory over 450 rivet. Not somthing I enjoyed replaceing. Are you drilling holes then glueing rivets into the holes? If so you may want to take this down a different path. In a case like this I think surface replacement iw the way to go, much less chance of causeing more damage. Just my 2 cents, take it for what its worth i guess

- and THAT is where I am stuck. Yes, at 1st I did drill holes with the intent to go back and insert stretched sprue - trim it off - then apply heat for the mushroom head shape of the rivet.........no luck.

So now I have my collection of rivets that are really too big, but still so d*mn small I am having a hard time getting them to stick to the model and not me as using tweezers ends up sending rivets flying around like 1/35th scale .50 caliber rounds. This is where the skills stop and the bumbling oaf takes control for that familiar ride down frustration lane.

Try this Alex. use a very small brush and "paint" some testors where u want the rivit. Use testors because it has a slow evaporation rate. Then using a new #11 blade in ur knife, use the tip to gently pick up a rivet, and put it into place, then follow with another dab of Testors. Viola! Time consuming, but it works!
