H i all
Iam in the process of getting bits and bobs foe another project which will be set during the first world war.
While buying coffee out i noticed these card wraps which you slip you coffee cup into so your hand does not get to hot.
I tend to look at lots of things if they are disposable ,and seeif it has a use i found thet the inside of the card wrap has a corragated effect and would be great for use in dios i will get some photos done, and try some paint effects and post them.
I always grab as many as i can ...lol lol sad eh! if anyone has no access to these beauties let me know and i will post some on.
Another company Barnes and Noble book shop sells Coffee and they do the same thing but the inside is like a bamboo effect.
Cheers Chris

Hi Chris, Scott's right about the sticks I'm using them right now for planking on a barge - precut just glue them on. Course I kinda feel guilty about pinching them from my coffee stop but hey modeling is important.-Cheyenne

My very good buddy just closed his coffee shop for the last time. This is very sad because they had a drink on the menu named after me- The Murphacinno. The only good part to closing was I recieved 2 sleeves of paper "shot glass" sized cups and 2 boxes of wooden stir sticks! What to feel?

Great observation Chris. I do a lot of that too. I've collected enough "rubbish" (that's what the wife calls it) that I now have to throw some of them out seeing as the wife is giving me the "evil" look.
That corrugated effect is also found on cardboard packing boxes too, if you need a bigger piece. I've used some of it for tiles but you may need to waterproof it before applying any acrylics or water based paints as paper get mushy when loaded up with paint. I used an oil based wood varnish.

One man's garbage is another man's.................
I find myself always on the lookout for dio material, looking closely at dried flowers at Micheals or purusing the (dreaded) fabric store, or sifting through office supplies at work.. This is all part of modelling and I take my job seriously :-) actually it's great fun.

And here i was thinking you were talking about the cup holder in my computer. You know the one...push a button and it slides out so you can rest your cup in it while surfing.
Just kidding guys
