Hello!
I'm very new to using Acrylics, and am slowly adding them to figures that are mainly painted in oils. But, I'm having trouble with my clumsy fingers rubbing all the acrylic paint off of them!
Is there a good sealer, or trick to get acrylic paint to stay on metal and plastic figures?? Thanks!

Are you rubbing them off while your painting, or after the fig is painted?

After washing, drill some holes in the bottom of the feet or some other place that won't be seen when finished, insert some sort of wire pin, brass, steel, whatever. Then mount them on balsa or some other wood block so you won't have to handle the figure at all. When finished, apply a dullcoat and let dry. After that, no more rubbed off paint.

Sticky,
Yes, and yes. lol. I'm maily concerned about the paint coming off the fully completed model. Because when I'm working on it, I can always touch it up because I can still remember which color I used on it! Thnks for the suggestions! Any brands you like better than others?

May be a stupid question....but are you priming them before painting then with the acrylics????
The paint will stick to the primer better than the bare metal.

Not only priming but also giving the figure a soapy wash and rinse before the primer?

Are you painting the acylic over the oils? If you are the acylic will not bond properly over top of the oil paints. You should either seal the oils, or paint acrylics first, using the oils over the top.

I agree with all of the above, and to summerize.
1. Wash and dry figure
2. Mount fig
3. Prime (I beleive a flat grey or white laquer based primer works best)
4. Paint (I have recently discovered Vallejo and I really like them they are acrylics)
5. Seal
6. Show off the work on armorama

Another thing I forgot to mention, keep the brushes you use for oils and acrylic seperate. Don't use the same brushes for both paints.
