Just checked. The Jagdtiger did use different tracks which are narrower that the Tiger (II). So they are the 'normal' tracks. No idea why though?

but what a fool i was...before buying that kit about a month or 2 ago, i did not check the box cover, it shows the tank with the narrow tracks.. the kit is 'jagdtiger late production type' no. 9036
which manufacturer produce the KT tracks? i would like to use em...
just dont like the look of the narrow tracks..errmm,..they look... 'gentle'

weird, but the references i looked out for suggested otherwise! using the normal combat tracks.. hmmm
anyway, thanks Vinnie for replying...
maybe if it is more realistic..then i guess i'll model it with the narrow tracks

The Jagdtiger had an extended hull, so maybe it had something to do with total weight of track? I would be interested to discover the reason for the different tracks?

You must have purchased the 'Late Model' Jagdtiger kit... this kit comes with Transport tracks... these were fitted during rail transport as with all of the tigers... the Jagdtiger was just wide for the Rail system in europe.
In terms of replacements you can get tracks from
Modelkasten or friulmodel... just be sure to get the tracks that match your drive sprocket.... the Jagdtiger use both 9 tooth and 18 tooth sprockets... and you'll need to be sure that you get the right tracks.

I'm confused here. I originally thought you were talking about the 184's. I now believe you were talking about the 186's? I think Tim might be correct. Can you tell us which kit exactly it is that you have?

Ahh! I haven't seen that one. Tim is correct. I have absolutely no idea why the transport track are fitted? They are the 9 teeth drive sprockets though.

I think Dragon just wanted to show that many of the late Jagdtigers were sent right to the front with their transport tracks on and they did not receive their battle tracks ..I've seen pitures of both used in combat so I think it was a neat option that they provided.

Spiritseye -
I've got a set of Tamiya's indi tracks for my Panther G that look pretty good and Tamiya makes them for the King Tiger as well. Since my Tamiya "Ardennes Front" KT is for "AGE 2" and must be OOB, I don't have the KT tracks set so can't give details on them other than I know Tamiya has them for their KTs. Hope this helps,
