I like the sandbags idea in the forum, but it leads me to want corrugated iron to go with it, is there a way to make it or where could I buy some?
Thanks

There used to be a model railroad company called Campbell which made a lot of kits using corregated pieces. I think they've been out of business for some time, but the kits still pop up on Ebay, and I've seen several of the kits in recently in model RR shops. The best one to get would be the roundhouse-it's loaded with huge pieces of corregated metal. If that doesn't work for you where you are, get the Plastruct or Evergreen corregated siding. Then rub heavy duty foil over it and use the foil instead. You can actually etch it with acid for some interesting weathering effects.

Redskin,
try these, they have most of the Plastruct materials which include corrugated.

Failing this try www.Plastruct.com I have ordered direct in the past, it's cheaper than you think from the UK, even with the postage.

OK, cheers teach, terrain do what I need. I searched the forum and found a related thread which suggested a kind of jig, 2 pieces of flat plastic or wood with the profile of the iron on each piece, a piece of tin is sandwiched between them and out pops a corrugated sheet. Here's the only problem, each side of the sandwich will have a half rod profile, if I use 1mm that gives me a "wave height" of 2 mm. Since I don't have any corrugated sheet handy what's your opinion on that scale? Hold on, no it won't, I think I'm talking out my exhaust, I'll be back when I thought this through, I'm practicing on a " Tunnocks caramel wrapper.".

There is a way to make this item, you need to go to any good art supply store and get the tool with to corrugated rollers on it and it has a handle to crank, artists use it to squeeze every drop of paint out of those exspensive oil paint tubes. I forget what the real name is if i find it i will repost.

I have used the small corrugated card stock. I separate the cardboard and the in side is corrugated. If you find the small boxes it is very close to 1/35 scale. Also I have on occasion been able to find plastic sheets of it through Evergreen plastic. A lot of the bigger on line hobby suppliers carry Evergreen. Great models is one that does.

On the previous page Tango20 suggested the paper coffee cup liner found at espresso bars (great idea!).. In the States alot of household lightbulbs come packaged in corregated paper boxes that might work. Its easy to tear the paper to represent mangled panels too.

The ones mentioned by Teacher from Plasticstruct appear pretty good and I believe they come in several sizes. Have never ordered any though as I usually resort to my usual cheapo methods.
The one mentioned by Tango20 is what I normally use although mine comes off cardboard packing boxes. The trick from preventing them from going all flat is peel off all of the top layer for the part that will be used as the top. Peel only partially at the edges of the lower layer holding the corrugated portion. Maybe 1-2 cm from the edge depending how much can be seen once you set it up.
Alternatively is to buy ready corrugated sheets (paper) from an Art shop. Architects sometimes use them for their model houses. I've included a pic below of both. If you ignore my poor attempt at the figures the main door has a roof made of corrugated material from cardboard boxes and the walls have corrugated material from the Art shop.
I've also made some out of aluminium baking sheets for a tool shed but it tends to be a bit tedious.

Why go through all the hassle? Hansa Systems sells bags of pre-cut corregated iron (made of hard plastic)... very cheap, and look perfect. Everyuthing is also in 1/35 scale... so these are about the equivilent of a 4ft x 8ft sheet of metal.
4 Pcs for only $3.95 plus about $2.00 postage.
The website is www.scalemilitary.com
Then select INVENTORY and then HANSA... item #600.

I know this thread has had the hide beaten off of it but here is another suggestion. Scrap bookers use all kinds of paper crimpers. One of them is bound to be about right for 1/35th scale corregated...
