Yes this is my third post on my M10, i think i got a lot further I darkened the tools and tow cable, did a little post shading ,some pastels (my first try at both of these) some dry brushing and a pin wash. I think i am about 70% done still need to add some dust stowage and the tracks. Please any comments or ideas welcome. There are more pics in my gallery on page 4 check them out.

A definite improvment! I agree still more to do, color still seem a little to uniform for my likeing, but that's a personal thing! Keep em comming!

good one there rv1963. the weathering looks good inside/outside the vehicle, esp the wash & subtle highlights. i like what you did with the wood handles on the tools too. even without putting it on a dio/base, the model looks so good by itself.
any crew figures coming?

Yes Sticky you may be wright but i think its to late to change the tone of the paint now on the next one i will use my airbrush and vary the color a little more, needs some dust on the lower hull road wheels and tracks, still not to bad, Mojimbo i am going to put it on a simple base with a little ground work and i think one commandor figure standing proudly in front of his Tank. Thanks for the comments keep em commin good or bad thats how i improve on this or the next one Thanks again.

Couple of things:

Paint the track grousers (stowed on the side of the hull) a metal color

see if you can repaint the Jerry cans a different shade of OD. A little variation would really offset "OD uniformity" syndrome that most fall into with Allied vehicles so you could do the same thing on other select areas.

Other than that, you are on the right track. The wash isn't too overdone. The blast residue is done well.

Your M10 is looking alot better now with the shading you did. I like how you made the markings appear a little worn.

Are you using the kit tracks ?

Keep up the great work !

Cheers !!

RV, a great improvement from the first set of pics!

BTW, it may not be too late to "fix-up" the tone of the OD.

It looks like the photo above shows it with the gloss still on. (could be the lighting too) But, after you spray the dull coat on her, hit it with some more pastels. Pastels stick better and are a lot easier to blend on a flat coat.

If you have white/yellow and a shade or two of green, you can experiment mixing some different shades of green to help vary the tones of the OD. Powdered pastels mix much like paint does.

Try to do experiments on a scrap model, not the one you are working on.

Robert thanks for the compliment, yes i will be using the kit tracks they look and seem to fit good, and all the marking except for the front star had to be repainted by hand the decals silvered on me even with a coat of gloss applied first, Ken the model has plenty of flat coat on it must be the lighting, i will retry the pastel with a lighter shade of green on some scrap plastic first if i get a good feel for it i will apply it to the M-10. The next pics i post should be of the finished model on a simple base maybe with one figure, oh i hope i have not beaten this thread to death with the same model. Thanks for all the tips and comments everybody.
