Hi All'
I'm not happy with the Trumpeter AS90's gimpie, and have nothing to replace it with (or the money to buy anything!)
I'm wondering if any other weapon's been fitted in it's place.
Thanks for any help
Tom

To the best of my knowledge only the L7A1 GPMG has been fitted to the AS-90 pintle mount. You could simply omit the GPMG as it is quite common for vehicles not on exercise or active duty to have no GPMG fitted.
If you want to splurge (although you did say you didn't have spare cash) the Dragon Modern Machine Gun set contains a few really nice Gimpies. The sprue containing the Gimpies is also included with the Dragon Modern US Marines figure set (it's supposed to do double duty as an M-240 even though it requires a little surgery to play that role).

Accurate Armour's Abbot comes with a Bren in addition to the L7A1. Since that;s a Abbots were only recently retired, I wonder if you could get away with using a Bren on your AS90. Witness the vehicle/weapon combos we Yanks get away with in the field.

Nah, the bren gun is long gone. You could try contacting Accurate armour. They make GPMGs and might let you have one cheaply. Just worth a try I think.

Thanks for your help all. It's just the kit mg seems too 'blocky' in the reciever height. I might try and thin it down a little and see what I think.

Accurate Armour are very good about sending spares from different kits. They do charge a bit, but that's only to be expected.
