Some of you may have noted the new look and feel of the Reviews section. I still have much to do, but I went ahead and put up what I have finished to date. Here are some of the items that are not working yet (but hopefully soon).
• Review Submissions
• Comment Posting (works but you get an error - hit back twice and refresh to see your comment)
• Add all manufacturers and logos (I have only a few in the system)
• Set up direct upload reviews album so that experienced review submitters can upload their own (correctly processed images) to the site and then have them appear in the review.
Cheers,
Jim

Hi Jim
Here's what may appear an odd request.
I wanted to add a comment to one of my reviews. The Figure International Magazine review is based on issue 1. I now have issue 2, and I want to add a few comments about that. When I tried I got a big error screen saying something about header information being there already. Is this because I've written the review? Or is there a problem with adding comments?
Cheers
Andy

Andy...
Yup...see item #2 above. You can post comments, you just get the error and have to go backwards on your browser to get back to the original review.

Just wait till I put in some reviews of Italian tanks, Rob. People will be flocking in to see them!
Well, someone will find them useful I'm sure........
The changes look good, Jim. For now, do we still submit reviews to [email protected]?

Nic,
I am SO glad you asked that question.
No. At least not generally. The review submission system has always been able to be submitted online and I am hoping to get the bugs worked out and have it working again. This time around users will be able to fill out all the detailed info (scale, price, item #, etc.) and also format the article with headers for various sections and up to 5 images. The image system will be a little funky though. I would prefer all the images to be hosted here but there is no image uploading in the review submission so that will have to be done seperately. For a selected group of folks who pass image submission guidelines (or have already done so), I will set up permissions to add images to an album in the gallery. Then they will just need to grab the location URL for each of the images and cut and paste them into the review form. Work work work....
For the rest they can put everything BUT the images in the submission form and send images via email OR they can put in the URLs of the images they would like to use (where the images may be on other sites or hosts), then I will run out and format them and upload them here. Work work work....
Aren't you glad you asked? :-)
Cheers,
Jim

One other element that wasn't working (that NOW is...after much trial and error) is that when a user posts in the reviews area, they get credit for the post in their post level.

Good incentive Jim.
I have two reviews written and just sitting in my computer waiting for the pictures to be taken. Maybe I should just send them now and get the pictures to you later? The clouds won't go away.......

Jim, I clicked on Submit Review and nothing happened. No submission form or anything. What are we supposed to do right now?

Doh!
Sorry I am still working on that part. You can send if via email for the time being.
Make sure to give me items that would appear in the new system though (scale, item id, rating, other ratings, etc.).

Hi Jim
Any eta on the ability to submit reviews?
As opposed to actually working at work, I was thinking of reviewing a figure I've been working on.
I was hoping to be able to post the review directly, but I see you're allowing other phases of your life to interfere with the review section updates!?!
OK, that's enough smileys. I'm going to have to do some work until you make my time wasting more efficient! :-)
