This is my newest project that I started this past week. It is the M-342A2 four panel dump truck. The dump bed is another scratch build and the truck is the old faithful AFV Club M-35A1/A2 kit.

Another cracker Dave, bit too modern for my tastes but good modelling all the same.

That looks real good Dave, did you modify the old cargo bed with the same old cross members that it had, then just turn it into a dump box?

I used the bottom cross member section and the two sides. The bed had to be widen to 8 feet.

I don't know why they have this, then maybe I do, but all the manufacturers call their beds, trailers or what ever by the inch, they are either old 96 inch which is 8' then ,102 inch, and all the wheel bases are by the inch to, then the states on wide restrictions always put it in feet.

Nothing allowed wider then 8 feet, and so on, not inches so the driver would know right away if he was legal, they want him to not know, so they can fine him a couple hundred bucks.

Even on U-hauls, and all other rentals, cause they have 102 inch wide now to, the city of Columbus paid for their new highway through the middle of town that way, plus a fleet of cop cars to pull everybody over, for this process.
