Hi All

Just finished indy getting chased by the boulder in raiders when he gets the gold idol.

The dio base was very easy to do it is foam core built up to the desired shape and the boulder is a foam ball picked up at a hobby shopthey were both covered with a 2 part mix of plaster of paris and wood glue.

It was then painted with 4 different colour browns to get the desired colour for the ground work. The folage is from woodland scenics it was glued down and then painted diferent shades of greens and khaki.

Indy is from 3 differnet figures
1- body is from verlinden's US navy landing crew # 1864
2- the head is from verlinden's WW2 civilians #2016
3- the legs are from the bits box
4- the holster is from a german figure it has been slightly modified, the whip is just some string and the idol is a 1/72 figure just cut down and carved to the desired affect. The whole figure was then painted with arcylics and modellers paints.

Nice idea for a dio hemble, & it turned out great. You might think about cob webs on Indy. I'm pretty sure I remember cob webs!!!.
I seem to remember doing "angel hair" as a kid using glue between 2 fingers and passing a pencil between the fingers collecting the strings of glue (angel hair), would be perfect for cob webs, just a thought

I take my hat off and bow !!

That is a nice vignette for sure. Being an Indy fan myself, I must say this is very well executed !!

One minor thought though : The figure looks to be a bit glossy. If this is caused bu the camera . flash, then no problemo, but if it looks glossy in real life too, than perhaps you should do something about it.

Excellent !! Thanks for sharing this with us.

Wonderful subject, and fun concept.... using bits and pieces of other kits is a great way to create new poses.... nicely done! Love the "five-o'clock shadow" on Indy's jawline...

wow that makes a wonderful refreshing change of pace from all teh WW2 stuff you see here, very creative, well done mate !

Well, Indy is in fact a WWII subject, he constantly has conflicts with the Nazis. Especially in the first film that has this scene, Nazis are trying to find the lost ark to have a powerful army using the power of the ark. But I get your point :-)

As for the subject, I have to say that it is one of the best I would love; I can see the DVD set of Indy right in front of me now.

The model... I think it is perfect! Couple of things, though: The clothes seem a little shiny to me, which may be because of the photos. The scene you created takes place in a dark and closed environment, why dont you try to make it like that?

I like your model very much.
Cheers.
Cagin.

I really like the subject but I think you should modify the figure.
Indy looks too relaxed, as if he is just striding and the large lump of stone is sneaking up on him.

maybe tilting his upper torso forward and with one leg in the air (as in a running posture) would imply to a sense of danger and rush that this scene provokes in the Ark film.

Thanks Guys I really appreciate the input

Slug- I thought about the sider web then reallzed that he did'nt get it all over him till he was half down the tunnel this scene is when he steps past the spikes.

Eagle & caanbash-I think it's the light that I used as I did'nt use any flash and by the looks of it I did'nt have it tilted back enough.

Elad-the scene I was trying to do was when the boulder was first comming down and he turns and starts running.
But your right a little more forward and a little higher on the right leg would've been that more better.
With the darkness I did'nt want it in a shadow dio or something like that as I wanted to show all sides to it.
