Maybe you should try a slightly thicker blade, as some of your imprints have closed in before the plastic cooled down.
Just a suggestion.

Maybe but it really does look okay after it is painted and weathered. I think if it was any deeper it would be over size scale wise.

I didn't mean to go in deeper, what i ment is to choose an instrument that is a little thicker and so the indentations would not close up, as some have, it seems to me on your 2nd pic. the edges of the indentations are a little sharp for Zimmerit.
