Hi all,

As my compressor broke down I can't finish my current projects, so I decided to take something from my stash and build again.

I took dragons Fallschirmjäger with leichgeschütz.

Every time I start a set I begin to think about how I could put it on a diorama. So, also with this kit.

Now I don't have references on the usage of this gun.....so my questions are:

- In which period where they used (e.g 1943 - 1945?)
- What Allied troops faced these small guns? (Americans, British. Commonwealth? - Armored unites, Infantry?)

I want to put them on an Italy diorama.....

Also any further usefull information is of course welcome!

pics of the progress:

ready for combat

ready for transport

both guns...

next to my King Tiger.....they're really small!

Thanks!,
Martin

I think you can safely place them in a Italian dio, namely Monte Cassino.

I was sure of Italy...are you sure they were used at Monte Cassino?

That would make an interesting setting..

I read somewhere in a book that falschirmjager took part in that battle and since this was an integral part of their armament in the later part of the war, sure, I even saw some pics of parachutists with one of these, it was done several weeks later, again in Italy.

Ok, I wasn't sure whether they were used there because I read there weren't many leichtgeschützes made in the war....

Well, thanks for the info!

Still of course I'd like to hear any other suggestions/ideas etc

Fallschirmjager were deployed on the Ostfront on several occasins but you'll have to check up on that. Have a look at the Osprey book if you have it. Sorry I can't be more specific, but I'm 4000 km from my library at the moment and have no refrence available.

Hello guys

In Steel Masters issue 29 was an article about a diorama. This diorama shows some Fallschirmjäger with a Leichtgeschütz during the fights about Rom in September 1943. It include also a litle article about the 7,5 cm Leichtgeschütz 40. Unfortunately is this article in german and I don't know if you speek german.

I like the idea with the factory ruins, but I'd like to put these guns on a Italian setting with the typical houses etc.....

Good enough to understand it. As I'm Dutch it's even easier as a lot of German and Dutch words look like eachother....I just have some trouble with speaking it :-)

Indeed Seems like I've got back luck again (all my "expensive" things here seem to have problems....broke down tv and compressor, strange doing 5.1 surround sound system, computer that doesn't allow me to play games anymore.....)

Maybe it just has to do with me :-) (no I'm very proud on what I've got on this room and I've worked for all of it, and I really use all of my stuff very carefully)

I've also read somewhere that they took part in the battles of Monte Cassino.

I've used them with a Monte Cassino building from Verlinden to create a dio.
