Kinda scary :-) :-) :-)
You stand near the fuel pump, very relax.
Hehe two seconds later, BOEM a huge tank pumping fuel next to you :-) :-) I would scare me to death :-)

This looks like North Carolina. We used to stop on our way to Camp Mackall for "maintenance halts" aka, snack runs. Why its at the pump is anybody's guess. That would make a good dio. :-) "Q"

Vehicle is from the FORT SNELLING MILITARY MUSEUM. Some of the vehicles are runners. I guess they don't have fuel trucks.

Hmm, just the thing for rush hour traffic, no problem parking either! BTW, when the Germans went through northern France in May-June 1940 they outran their supplies, fortunately there was a ready supply of fuel for their (petrol engine) tanks in the wayside garages! An idea for a diorama, PzIV D or early Stug anyone?

Yeah - but can you imaging if this wasn't "self service" how hard it would be for the attendent to wash the windshield and check the oil?

I wonder what the highway mpg is on that. I think I saw on the History Channel where it was said on Mail Call that the M-18 Hellcat (not the tank pictured I know) could get up to 55mph? Man! you would have to be in the slow lane, but still! :-)
