Hey guys and girls

I have a name and i have made a few changes. Its still not complete. Now i need a tiger or another german tank and i need to do something with that bridge!!

Anyway here are some pics of my progress so far.

An overall shot of the dio. The tiger will go on the road underneath the bridge along with a few german soldiers.

The sniper#1

Sniper#2

Is the Firefly part of the trap, or a wreck seeing as it has no tracks? If it's operational then I think the troops would be Brits instead of GIs.
It would probably be more realistic to use a late Panzer IV or Panther - I don't think Tigers/King Tigers were as common as is normally thought.
Should be effective when it's finished.

Even a Firefly would be nervous if a KT was coming at it. There won't be much time to get a side shot on it. I'd opt for smaller simply from composition stand point.

iam no jeenyus, but that second sniper seems to have to much snow on him, maybe get some of him.

for the snow, did you jsut filter it on and use hairspray? you would get better results using diluted white glue, it would eliminate those clumps you have, and you would be able to add texture to it ex: the effect of wind on the snow.

Besides that, looks good

I like this composition much better than your preliminary positioning. Scott for the bridge maybe you can add a stonework guard-rail for the side. You can then place one or two Allied infantry which were the sentries that spotted the Germans coming in the first place. They'll probably be in a crouched position behind the guard rail.

How about a German half track or an armored car instead?

Hi A-train,

I agree with Dave Cox. It would be better if it would be a Panzer IV or a Panther in place of a King Tiger.

One more thing and this is for your next dio. Next time, do not position anything parallel to the sides of the dio. Slant them a little. This will make the dio have the illusion of continuity and not confined to the base.

This is important, especially on this dio, because you have modelled a part of a bridge.

Your dio is entitled "The Trap." Who is trapped? The Germans or the US GIs?

I was assuming that the US GIs were trapped. So this is supposed to be my suggestion. Have the US GIs fight for their lives. There would be a tank with German soldiers firing at the US GIs or dismounting from the tank.

You can also put another vehicle...maybe a half track or armored car...or a group of soldiers on top of the bridge, aiming down at the US GIs. That would imply that the GIs are "trapped."

Correct me if I'm wrong, though...

I believe the germans will be trapped, coz the snipers definitely had enough time to find a good position. Keep up the good work! Whitewashes and snow are things I simply don't dare to start with - yet. Succes!

I agree with the comment about the Firefly. It would be the wrong type of Sherman to use if you have US troops doing the ambush. I also agree that your snipers are covered in too much snow.

You have made some nice improvements over the first pics you posted of this dio. Your snow looks very good. I would still work on the stone work on your bridge. I suggest you cover the surface with a thin coat of joint compound, or clay, or putty...and try carving the stone work. If that sounds like too much, you could also try some aftermarket products like platruct-they make plastic sheets that come molded like stone. You would just ned to cut to size and paint.

Thanks for the comments guys.
I have a few changes being made. There will be GIs and brits here. There will also be a jeep of something along the lines with the firefly.
There will be GIs on the brdge above the tiger. Two of them with bazooka's and the rest with grenades. that is why i have chosen a tank rather than a halftrack.
There is too much snow on the second sniper i have noticed and i am trying to remove some without doing any damage. lol
