I like your idea! Can't say too much already as you still have a long way to go, just that you should give your figures some shadow etc (black wash? you should ask figure painters how to do this)
I'm looking forward too see more pics...... :-)

Thanks for all the comments this far.
I've added NEW PICTURES today.
The link did not work with everybody, now here it is again, this should work:
Wolf in sheep's clothing
The figures are indeed not painted right yet. They need more shade, etc.
The sideskirts and engine deck is from 0,5 mm styreen plate. No PE parts needed sofar, don't think I'm gonna use them also.

Great start! I to am interested in what you are going to use for a gun barrel. And what do you use to paint the figures?

Hello to you all!
Q&A:
Barrel:
I still doubt if I'm going to use a metal barrel (Jordi Rubio) or the one from the kit. The metal one can probably be made without the muffle brake, like some of the StuG's had. But some of them had also the muffle brake still on the barrel. I've not decided yet, because the kit's barrel looks OK too.
The painting:
For the StuG I'm planning to use an airbrushed Tamiya XF1 flatblack basic layer followed by an Tamiya Olive Green overall coat.
Then placing the star markings: I'm gonna use left-over US star decals or spray the stars using a mask. The division markings: I think I gonna "cut an paste" leftover decals from other kits for US marking codes to create the correct markings.
Then followed by a flatcote (Humbroll) overall spraying and then... the best part: black waching, detailing, drybrushing etc, etc. Perhaps a bit of white here and there to give it an winterish look...
I use Verlinden's booklett 1816 (Building Military Vehicles vol. III) as my "standard manual" for vehicle painting.
The figure painting:
First a white basic layer (airbrushed) followed bij Tamiya flesch as a basic layer for hands and face.
After good drying (a few days) I'm gonna use Talens Van Gogh oil paints for the shades etc in the faces (using raw umber, burnt sienna, white).
For the eyes I use Model Color's acrylic white, followed by a very, very small colored dot for the pupils.
Uniforms mostly with Humbroll and Revell (yes, I still use some Revell paint!) followed by washing and drybrush.
This is how I mostly paint vehicle's and figures.
I have to start yet with painting this model and figures, so TIPS and ADVISE are ALWAYS WELCOME
