Does anyone know in what colors i should finnish M3 Sturart tracks operating in desert

I just checked Steve Zaloga's Osprey book on the Stuart. His desert tracks have dark metal links and teeth with balck rubber pads. A color photo of the real thing in a dust jacket shows much the same with a lot of dust on the pads.
