Hi Mary,
Really a great job on the groundwork! It really looks cool and convincing...like the forrest is really "alive".
You have a dio name already?
Can't wait to see it finished...you're a great dio builder!

Improvement is fast and impressive dear lady . U have been a good student i see in all fields. The forest litter is nice , the mix looks realistic in colour and variation. Some bigger pieces maybe need to be broken down in smaller considering the size of the branches and the leaves that would be on them .
The barrels need to be painted !! Just kidding
The scene is looking so good and with the additions u expect to do there i bet we ll have a real nice scene MaRY Keep up the good job

You are off to a good start. Composition is good. I do have a couple of constructive remarks if you are interested.

Hi Mary, nice job...
Don´t forget the marks of tracks, tires and footprints on the ground.
I can´t see the vehicles and the figure more clearly,
but I think is it good...
Go ahead..
Cheers

It's very beautiful. I like the addition of the vehicles and the fallen leaves.
A few more suggestions.
1. Maybe you could put a little of the fallen leaves on the road.
2. You could also add a few more figures, especially on the open space in front of the Kubelwagen and the supply depot.
Aside from that, there's nothing more I can say. it's really superb.

Thanks for all the comments guys. I really would like to put a couple of figures into the dio..however, it seems that figures are a bit slim to choose from in 1/48th scale. Most that i have found are Luftwaffe...
I would love some suggestions...

Try Northstar figures they hav 1:48 german WW2 soldiers (but you must like the sculping...)
And there is kit Preiser 67001 with Geman luftwaffe figures, but with some modifications could become soldiers. The kit has some extra's like a table, bags, chair...
And CMK has a kit 48104 with "present" mechanics , but can be used very good as WW2 mechanics also...
Also look on Modelrailroading sites, scale figures 1:45 are called ther often scale "0" figures and figures 1:48 are scale "0n3" figures. But those are most industrial and civilian people...
Hope you find some good people for your forrest diorama!

I have to agree with some of the others this dio is making the forest feel alive. I cant wait to see how "alive" it looks when you add the figures you have chosen. :-) I still think a couple leaves look a little big but we will see when its finished. Excellent work so far honey...Cheers Kevin

Looks good Mary i see you added several of those tiny boxes from your other post and started to paint some barrels, i would consider painting some of the barrels different colors, maybe one in a nice dirty red, for contrast, just an idea. I am waiting to see some figures that will fill things out nicely. Now you have me thinking of my own Dio in 1/48 scale with maybe a Hetzer.
