Just an update as to my M16 for Ardennes Campaign. Managed to overcome the trauma caused by perfectly applying the stars on the side only to discover they didn't need to be there.
It's based on a picture I found on the net and posted in an earlier thread (but which I cannot access from work- filtered internet, y'know).
Anyhoo, I had to assemble the vehicle ID from various other decals, which is why it probably looks too long (to me anyway).
There are a couple of things I know need to sort out (e.g. the driver's 'Muppet Hands'), and the odd bit of detail painting at least...

I like the camo!
The vehicle ID does look a little big. Its hard to tell from the picture but it looks like the seam still shows down the middle of the front tires.

Hi mate,
Good job so far. I'm not sure about the vehicle ID though...isn't that one too long?
Great job on the camouflage. The driver figure looks good too!
You got plans on how to let it look like a real Ardennes vehicle (mud or something like that?)
Now go finish it
Martin

It's definitely the right number:
I think it might be from 486th AAA AW attached to 3rd Armoured Div (Guesswork based on my breakfast-time reading of the Ardennes OrBat in Charles MacDonald's 'Battle of the Bulge' book.)
Thanks for pointing out the seam ( !). I thought I had them all. It's ok though coz the wheels still revolve so I can easily hide that bit (oh wot a perfectionist!) but apart from that the tyres still come off so back to the file.
Thanks chaps.

That's really neat that you tried to copy that pictures. Can't wait to see it with the gas can racks and stuff when complete

Thanks Alan- trouble is that I'm relying a lot on guesswork- what the other side's like etc. I'm assuming it has jerrycan racks on either side. I'd love to see more photos of this but...

I have seen a larger size of this photo, and there is indeed a rack on the RHS just like the left.

Howdy MC !
I like your build a lot! Great Painting and weathering detail. One thing I noticed is it looks like the tires need more dust or mud on them. They look clean compared to the rest of the vehicle. Other then that I say Bravo!
Cheers,
Garry
