I'm building the excellent Tamiya T-55a. Don't know if I want to weather her all up. Anybody have any pictures of T-55's in the May Day parade. I know on the later MBT's they used to paint those ridges on the front fenders white (black and white photo). Was this always done or came about in later years?

This is from a Ukranian/Russian site with images of T-55's used in a number of countries so this may not be a Soviet example but it gives the general idea.
Hope this is of some use.

Hey Blaster,
When I was running around looking for markings for the IT-1 I did for the Tank Terror campaign, I found that while markings changed from year to year ( I assume), there were several constants in my sources:
1. "Hub" caps painted white
2. Fender ridges painted white
3. Fender edges painted white.
Otherwise, I found instances of other things painted and some more common parts (like the barrel end) not painted all the time.
Now, go have some fun painting!
