I'm off to Heidleberg for an Ex in November for three weeks. Anybody got any suggestions in the local area for an armour enthusiast. Thinking Museums and hobby shops.

There is an armor/aircraft museum due east of Heidelberg on the autobahn. Maybe an hour or so. I wish I was home and had the album with photos or a map of Germany handy. It was rather neat and they had a lot of German stuff there. I went there twice during my tour.

Hi,
the bigest colection of Bundeswehr and Wehrmacht AFV and Weapons in Germany is in Koblenz. Dont know exactly how long it takes to get there from Heidelberg but cant be to long. And by the way you can visit some of the postcard images of the rhine. But have a look at their homepage its in english. Maybe you can get more travel information by simply calling them when you are in heidelberg.

Its realy worth a daytrip.
