Hi Nervreck, here are some of the pics from my last diorama that featured water. I hope this is what you are looking for.
For this water I used Castin Craft polyester clear resin and gunze sangyo transparent paints. A full explanation of how I did this water can be found here
http://dioramas.armorama.com//features/523
If you like this method and have any questions about it feel free to pm me I'll be glad to help. Cheers Kevin

Sorry, it's not the best pic. It's my first attempt at the dreaded water-It's cloudy because it was still wet when I took the pic. This is woodland scenics ready to pour water.

I've only modeled water once, so I don't have a lot of pics to show, but here's how mine turned out...

Hilbert - I use resin mostly for water - see the article under my post.
Other options are layered varnish - clear plastic - everpour etc. Lots of options

Water is always a fascinating subject matter for me if not challenging. Here's my go using locally available materials.
The first one was my first attempt using a polyurethane/ superglue combo for moving water.
The second attempt utilized wood varnish topped off with polyurethane glue for a slow moving river.
My latest go uses just layers of wood varnish alone for still water.

This was my first and last dio that included a water theme. Water was made from a two part epoxy. I now wished that I have asked members here on how to make the waves....oh well.

Beachbum that palm tree you have is incredible!!! Could you offer us up some insight on how you made it? Possibly do an SBS? Cheers Kevin

Surface was built up using plaster. Then lots of layers of gloss varnish with oil tints. Waves made with superglue gel, flicked up and shaped with a toothpick. Then more layers of gloss varnish not tinted to finish.
If its kept dark and has something to reflect in it like walls, this method works really well and cheap.

A bit of water in my latest dio.
Several layers of resin with the "weeds" painted in on each layer.

Hi Kevin,
Thanks. Its made from a aluminium foil + kebab skewer combo. I've actually wrote an SBS on it as part of feature on making tropical jungle plants. I've submitted Part I but it isn't out yet. The coconut palm unfortunately is in Part II which I've done but haven't submitted yet.
The leaves or fronds are made from aluminium baking foil. I would have liked to have cut the leaflets more fine but there's only so much you can do with foil and bad eyesight.
The trunk consists of a slightly bent kebab skewer which has string wrapped around it and then covered with thin 1-ply tissue. I loosely based the trunk on Eric Sikkema's article on Making palms.
I could email Part II to you if you like.
