Greetings, my friends at the Big A...
I am posting this question to all of the Vietnam modeling experts that we have dwelling in our ranks. Does anyone know of any research links, books, etc. regarding the useage of the types of Tanks and equipment that were used in the many battles of 'Nam? All Nationalities and types if possible... I am totally sincere in this request, as I need to know of any information resources of such...I have spent many hours searching and so far have come up with little to no such listings. I really didn't know which forum topic to post this in, but I feel that this is the best one to put it up for response. If anyone knows of such a source listing, please post it here or shoot me a pm or an e-mail...I really do appreciate anyone's help in this matter!
Sincerely,
Mark " Gunny " Smith

Gunny I'll tell you what...how about you send me your address and then i'll send the book your way to barrow. There is just to much to list and with all the units that were involved. This way here you can have a look at pics and get real first hand infomation from the book. I don't mind at all....Joe

The Vietnam Tracks book is by far the best reference on this subject I have found. I would strongly recommend it because it covers not only US Army & USMC but also details ARVN, French and Aussie armour as well.

I would recommend the Armor in Viet Nam, the M551 Sheridan in Action, and the Patton Tank in action. All three are squadron/Signal books in paperback. Can be bought at very reasonable prices and are chock full of pictures and gorgeous color drawings.

G'day Gunny,
Also used by Australians in Vietnam was the M113 with the T50 Turret.
Cheers Jason

Hi Gunny,

Maybe this is out of subject but why don't you check out the Concord books of Hong Kong link available on DML website.
In the NAM collection they have :
two books on Uniforms (US army and US Aiborne)
three books on armor two on US & Allied and one on Vietnamese forces (PVA and ARVN).

Lots of pics and some good info on tanks and Vhls.
For more details, I sugest you search by Vhl type on the internet google query for example. It is amazing the ammount of data you get this way.

hope this helps

I was going to suggest the Concord book but I wasn't sure if it just listed Army and Marine units and the armor each units had. I don't think it went into combat support or combat service support equipment.

I've got the book at home and can check tonight.
