Hi all,
After threads about which kits I should use and where these ARV's were deployed I've got a final question:
How much could the M32 lift with his "arm" ??
Could it lift a...
1 - Jeep
2 - Dodge WC51
3- M20 / M8 armored car
4 - M5A1 stuart light tank
5- M10 TD
6- M4 Sherman
7- 2.5t 6x6 Cargo Truck
Need to know this for some diorama ideas (yeah ideas again....when the hell am I actually gonna finish a new diorama hahaha :-))
Cheers,
Martin

How about a sherman engine on the beam?
A multibank? a radial one?
This would make a nice dio,no?

Martin, just how was you planning on lifting this type 94, all the way off the ground, or just in the towing position, cause in the towing position it is only picking up part of it's weight, not the full weight, cause one axle will still be on the ground supporting the rest of the weight.

According to Hunnicutt, an M32 with the crane erected can lift 30,000 lbs straight up, 20,000 lbs if moving. There would be no issues lifting a motor or flipping over a tank. However it is generally not meant to me lifting a heavy object then driving around with it in the lifted position.

Also not if the object is something light like a jeep?

There is a picture on the web of either a M32 or a Britsh ARV driving past the camera while carrying a jeep off the ground. I guess that is one way to improve your gas mileage!

Hm, the problem is, if you lift heavy things and started moving around with them, they start swinging.
And believe me you don't want to be near a couple of tonnes of metal swinging around.

Well the M32 was meant to recover tanks. I don't see why it can't lift a jeep.
