I was recently at a show and saw, for sale, a beautifully illustrated box containing a 1/35th scale "insta-diorama:Stalingrad" from the Polish manufacturer Mirage. The box cover shows 10 German figures, a Soviet T-26 tank , several Wurfrahmen rocket launchers and a styrene base for the diorama, complete with slit trench. I've seen this and several other kits from the same manufacturer
advertised online and sold in hobby shops for around $27.00. Imagine my surprise when I got the kit for $10.00. When i opened the box I was greatly disapointed. There were NO FIGURES! The base, tank and rocket launchers were there ...which makes this kit worth only about $10.00 in the first place.
I don't read Polish so I should have opened the box and examined it's content first. Shame on me! When i finally examined the box thoroughly I found a little British flag on the side telling me that there was no paint....OK I can accept that.....no glue...allright there never usually is....and no FIGURES! What!? Why are they plastered all over the box in every picture! My bad!
The molding and quality of the vehicle and rocket launchers is soft and typical of most eastern model manufacturers. I'll probably use the tank in an Eastern front diorama...sometime. At least I didn't order it from a mail order house for the full price.
I just wanted to save some other poor soul from making a big mistake.
I would NOT recommend this kit to anyone!

I've seen other sets from this series on sale in Britain and I'm sure the boxes say somewhere (in English) that there aren't any figures included. In very small letters though.

At least you got the $10 price. Imagine how you'd feel if you went and got one of the $27 boxes

I've intended to buy one of these "packaged " dioramas once. As you say it was very attractive with the box and the price. But I had the advantage of opening and examining the parts of the kit. Whwn I asked about the figures the seller told me that they are not included. I didn't buy it. I'm sorry about your bad experience..
