Do any of you know how wide and tall in feet a single train tunnel portal is? i need it for a project im working on. thanks for any help.

I think it depends on when it was built. Modern tunnels are slightly less in height, but I'm not entirely certain.

I would imagine that tunnel dimensions vary widely depending on location and time period. I know that the track gages (width between the rails) in Europe and Russia were different during WW2 because it caused logistical headaches for the Germans. And, I am not positive but think the gages are still different between the US and most of Europe now. (Not sure on this, though)

The width of the tracks in Russia has been different since long before WW2 and still is today. Its done so that occupying forcess would have a difficult time in using the only reliable system of transportation in Russia throught the whole year.
