Hi guys,
As far as I know there are two manufacturers who produce the 1:35 M198 155 howitzer; Mouse House and Airmodel.
Can anyone tell me which of the two is the better choice (based on detail and buildability) ? Also building experience would be very welcome.
Thanks in advance,
Marc

I built the AirModel version about five weeks ago and posted a review in this forum. A few minor issue with the kit, nothing major. I've seen pics of the Mouse House version, and it includes the auxiliary wheels that were installed on the guns' trails later on to facilitate moving them around. I can also say the parts layout on the Mouse House version looks simpler. The gun cradle on the AirModel has two part rails and two part towers, whereas the M/H version actually has the whole cradle (both sides and front yoke) as one piece. Less work and fewer alignment issues there. I'd like to eventually build theirs, but first am gonna ry out their M119/L118.
If you read my review on the AirModel version, it'll give you an idea of the work involved to correct it, at least to semi-current US standards. (It had the upgraded gun crutch mounts, but not the aux. wheels)

MMB,
I've built both and the Airmodel version is the way to go. I didn't like the way it was packaged, as most of the small pieces were broken off of the pour plugs. Only 3 damaged parts that were easily replaced using metal rod vice getting replacements sent.

What is the price of the Airmodel version? I know the Mouse House one runs in the $100 US range (if not more). I'd really like to add one of these to my collection, but I'm holding out, stubbornly, for someone to make one in plastic and 1/35. After all, they finally got around to making the Vigilante for all those out there crying for one, so I keep crying for a M198.
