Ok, just a little update. Maybe I can get some good critques on this one since im more advanced in the diorama. Kar's hand isnt finished since it broke off. Also Deitrich's greatcoat and the halftrack arent neccesarily done yet. Also gonna throw a dullcoat over the figs.
This figure here is named Heintz. He comes from Brandenburg, Germany. He decided to join the SS in 1942. He seems a bit "dazed and confused" in this photo looking for his unit that he lost.
This figure here is named Jurgen. He was born in Munchen, Germany. He also decided to join the SS in 1942. He is starting to get a little mad trying to pick the mud off his boots with his Hitler Youth knife.
This Figure is named Kar. He was born in Berlin, Germany. He decided to join the SS in 1943. He is very tired after a feirce battle on the western front and grasps his water bottle for several sips.
This figure here is named Heinrich. He was born also born in Berlin, Germany. He joined the SS in 1940 and is also a WW1 veteran. He is having a smoke talking to one of the soldiers inbetween his hits.
This figure here is named Detrich. He was born in a small town outside of Hannover. He joined the SS in 1943 and has been on the front lines for a year now, till this day serving as a halftrack NCO. In this photo he is getting the officers attention to ask him a question.
Yesterday, I was shaking a bottle of paint when all of a sudden a bomb (a large magnifine glass) struck my figures HQ. The losses were heavy resulting in Kar loosing a hand and a foot, also braking his rifle in 2. Heintz also took some pretty heavy damage breaking the tip of his gun off. The halftrack took a direct hit knocking off the Medical bag. Good thing the medic had his own equipment! :-) Overall the outcome was OK after this tragic loss. But then, today.... I was setting up to take pictures. I had the figures outside and I was setting up the backdrop whitch was a flower pot covered with a black cape. Well I had moved the pot leaving a huge puddle of dirty water there. So I was getting set up and moving some stuff around and all of a sudden, boom the base for the figures fell off streight into the puddle of dirty water. Its like these figures have a mind of there own! They want to go swimming, they want to go flying, you know whatever! Well luckily I cleaned them off easily knowing that I had used enamels thank god! I found myself wondering, "What the hell did I do to deserve this!?"
Well thanks guys, enjoy!

The figures are nicely done. I like the camo painting, it's very convincing. Looking forward to seeing them 100% and all together.
Couple of things I see on the 251, the front right (251s right) inside looks to be DAK yellow not black. It could be mud color, and just the photo, so it's your call. The jacket on the side looks a bit stiff, maybe if you slide it up a bit, the bottom wont look to hang off as much. The track looks a bit bushed under the road wheels, can you align it a bit? It may be unseen depending on where the curb in the diorama is.
The interior is nicely done, lots of detail and you didn't miss any of it.
Lookin' good keep us posted.

Harrison exellent work, just a few critiques tho - what kind of cigs. is Heinrich smoking huh bet you didn't think about that smarty. Oh and what kind of poop is Jurgen scraping off his boots dog, horse, I'll bet its not mud at all. I have a photo of Kar as a baby and it says he was born in Bonn. Ditrich isn't trying to get his attention he's getting ready to say " Hey Heinrich pull my finger " Great cammo work Harrison everything seems to be coming along smoothly, keep up the good work. - Cheyenne

Hey guys, thanks for the comments.
Andy007: Thanks for the comment bro, Maybe sometime ill write a reveiw for all you guys?
Slodder: First of all, thank you very much for the responses and critiques. If your talking about the actual compartment that the driver is sitting in, there is no way I can paint that black. My RU's halftrack's interior is the same as this, all same color on the inside.
Cheyenne: I dont know how you come up with this stuff, but it always gets me laughin. I mean, im sittin in here taking a "test" and all of a sudden I just burst out laughin. Now what the hell do you think my teacher thought!?

Harrison - my bad - I didn't include the word WHEEL. The interior is fine, the inside of the wheel looks to be a lighter DAK color (could be mud).

Hey guys, thanks for the comments.
Slodder: Gosh Darnet! You caught me! As I said earlier the halftrack took a direct hit. The wheel was knocked off after painting. So I glued the wheel back on and it was a bit out of place. Thats why its not painted there. Ive been too lazy to paint it again but I will do it eventually.
3442: He bud, thanks for the nice comments. If youd like to do some mud on your tanks or whatever, just mix some soft mud from your yard with brown paint. Unfortunatly all the excess mud as fallen off after picking up the halftrack so much. So I will probobly be redoing the mud.
Bus: Thank you very much for the comment. Beleive it or not, when I painted those figures, I got to know them. I got to know their names, birthdates, birthplace, if they graduated highschool, if they had been to a nice college. The thing is, is you have a lot of time to think when your painting. Me personally, can paint and think about different stuff at the same time. So, when I was painting the figures, I came up with their names and etc. I didnt just come up with them while writing this post.

Those figures are awesome. The one scraping the mud off is boot is great. Your camo technique is impressive. Not being a German armor fan I will defer to others about the accuracy. As far as I can tell it looks good.

Great work Harrison. The figures and the halftracks looks absolutely great. The camo on the figs are amazing.
To bad about the accident or was it sabotage?
Will be looking forward to see this big german dio finished.

Tsunami,
really beautiful figures you did there (the guy's name should be "Karl" not "Kar",,and he is from Cologne ). Is it a jacket or shirt hanging on the left side of the 251 ? Looks good. I like it a lot. Go on !

Harrison:
Overall, I have to say you did a really nice job on your figures. They look very nicely painted. The only one that leaves me confused is the one scraping his boots. What type of camoflague are you attempting there on his zeltbahn? It doesn't look quite familiar to me. The others are very crisp, but the light green on this particular figure looks a little mushy for lack of a better term.
Thanks for showing us the figs, and good luck with the rest of your progress! Keep showing more pictures.

Dear Harisson
u have been doing good job on ur dio i have to say .
I like ur figures and ur detailing painting. What i think need some more work is the 251 outer surface, talking for weathering. Some pigments or pastels use, and some different color washes, would add depth to ur painting and give impression of paint tyhat has suffered some. U re heading the good way . Keep rpogressing

Thanks for the Comments guys
Hwa-Rang: Thanks for the awesome comments. Yes, its pretty bad about the accidents indeed, but for it to be sabotage is almost impossible unless it was a ghost. What happend, happend right infront of me.
Geronimo: Idk I like his name the way it is. but i will consider 1 of my next figs for the dio to name it karl. I still have 4 more to go. That is a german tunic hanging off the side, I repositioned it yesterday.
John17: Thank you very much for your comments. I think I was trying to accomplish painting the oak leave pattern. It was the first time that I had painted that camo. It sorta looks like a palm type though.
Major Goose: Your comments are awesome, thank you. I did throw on a raw umber wash after i painted the tank. Im not sure how im going to do the other washes, I have also never used pastels really.
Once again thank you guys.

Hi Harrison, these SS figures certainly ring my bell. Don't you just love SS camo? Do you get spots in front of your eyes like I do after a "heavy session"? I'm so far gone that if I get hold of a figure in gaiters rather than marching boots I just have to get that pea pattern going! What manufacturer are they? I think I've seen some of these poses in Squadron/Signal publications, I'm thinking particularly of SS Panzers. I'm very impressed by the cuff titles - are they hand painted or transfers? If the former you've got one steady hand there, if the latter where do they come from?
I'm also envious of your photography, I can't get close ups like these.
BTW if the half-track is from "Wiking" the guys should be called "Sven" or "Bjorn" from Denmark or Norway!

Hohenstaufen: Hey bud, thanks for the comments. I truley love SS camoflage. I baught an $80 on it just recently. The figs are Warriors. The cuff titles are dry transfers that I picked up in a hobb shop down in LA. Yes, the halftrack is 5th-SS Wiking, but alot of the people in that unit werent just norweign. (Sorry mispelt). Its a bit late now, the figs were already born, that be like my mom changing my name right now. You know?

Well Mate, it sounds like a lovely play your writing :-)
oooooonly kidding, a story line, especially a deep one, is great, and to have one for each fig...sheesh, maybe they should employ you over at Days of our lives :-) The figs look good so far mate, keep us posted.
Cheers
