Hi guys

Finally, i've finished this kit. Been sitting on the bench for like 3 months, waiting to be weathered etc

here it is:

some more pictures in my gallery

btw, i had a hard time with the damned italeri tracks, they are the worst i've dealt with! Believe it or not, i used about a whole week to try to sag it!

Looks good. It want's to be in a dio.

Is that the vynil tracks? I hope it doesn't break-off on you. My experience with Italeri's vynil tracks are very bad. That's why I have several kits that till now I don't wnat to build.

the panther looks good danny... are the zimmerit the bent-plastic type that comes with the kit?

i used to have the italeri panther A long time ago but i botched up the paintwork so bad (actually the kit itself is ok) that it eventually ended up in the trash bin... good practice though.

Hi guys,

RD, yes, the tracks are the god forsaken italeri tracks . I think the track are staying that way because i found out that white glue is the best thing to get the italeri tracks to sag! You should try it, italeri's tracks doesnt like superglue though

Mojimbo, yup, the zimmerit is comes from the box. need some fixing to get them in place but you gotta be real careful. I think the zimmerit is quite good except that it is too thick. I'm too lazy to sand it down heheh

Thanks for the comments guys

Hi Danny,
Great looking Panther. I built that kit some time back and had quite a bit of fun with it.
I've heard a lot of critical remarks about the kit, but I think it captures the look of a Panther well enough for me. Guess I don't have the "eye" to really be discerning.
I too had to fanagle the tracks and zimmerit panels, but it wasn't anything really bad.
In the close up of the roadwheels, I see a small piece of plastic. Did something break off?
You've done a great job and should be proud

M-60-A3, no, nothing came off the panther. I guess that plastic shaving you saw came from a figure i was cleaning up to man my upcoming Tiger 2 tank :-)

Johnny, The dirt effect is made from pigments. I used mig's for em

Thanks guys for the comments.

I've learned alot doing this kit, mostly dealing with pigments. Like the colour will change after a spray of dull coat , you can notice there are 2 dirt colours (darker and lighter) at the road wheels.

Luckily, they did no major damage. I kinda like the look too!

Danny,

Looks great. I have mine sitting in line for paint. Did mine W/O the Zimmerate. Thanks for the warning on the tracks, I have yet to tackle that problem. Again, great gob!
