20 russian soldiers in a dio? that's A LOT! what about german soldiers/crews?
it might be a good idea if you could sketch or briefly explain what dio you have in mind. in that way we could help you by throwing ideas etc. e.g: is it during summer/winter etc.

Wow - that's a big diorama. Lots of figures and space.
I see a bit of Kursk going on (Don't recall if Tigers were there - see a bit of checking), if not how about the push to Berlin. Either way - how about a burnt out T with the T34's driviing by with the infantry in support. Maybe a suvaner hunter hanging out.
I agree a few hand drawn sketches on paper would give a good idea of layout and scope.

Here's two-both include the Tiger knocked out.
1The Tiger is knocked out, and the Russians are cruising by-maybe a few guys checking for goodies around the tank.
2Find some surrendering german tankers-I think Verlinden makes some-and have the Russians taking them into custody.
Good luck!

Maybe this: put the Tiger on the side of the road with a track knocked out or something. Have the T-34s and Russian soldiers passing by.

Slodder, Tigers were the main offensive in Kursk, they used this flying V formation.
Tigers and Ferdinands up front, panzers second, halftracks and infantry last.

and have the Russians taking them into custody.
The Russians didn't normally take German prisoners, they simply executed them on the spot. This was in retaliation to the way the Germans (particularly the SS) treated the Russian people.

Yeah, thats a pretty well known fact-I was just trying to give the guy some ideas. Some prisoners were taken, and that would be easier to model than an execution.

Yeah, sorry if the tone came across kinda harsh.
I guess an execution dio would be out of the question...
I'm interested to see what he eventually comes up with. Me, I'd split the supply and not blow the entire load on one dio...

It smells like Kurk to me too! What about the abandoned Tiger being swallowed by the advancing russian infantry and the two T-34? No german figs needed... Just the russian soldiers and tanks and the Tiger...
Hoping I have helped, Cheers and happy modelling
