I am trying to find out who makes a 105mm Howitzer for a OIF dio with some humvees around.

I seen a AFV club kit but looked at some post already and I don't think the AFV 105mm gun was used in OIF. Who would make a 105mm howitzer that is being used in the current conflicf .

Or I might use the AFV club kit in a ODS dio with a pair of them being used.

Happy Modeling

Definately you can use the AFV 105 for ODS. The 82nd had them. I am not 100% sure about them being used now in OIF. Gino (HeavyArty) would be the best person to ask about that one.

The AFV Club 105mm Howitzer is the M102A1. The M102A1 has not been in the active force for about 8-10 years, sjortly after ODS. It was replaced by the M119A1 105mm howitzer. The M102A1 is still in use with some Army National Guard units and has been deployed with them to OIF as NG units have deployed in support of Stability Operations, not in the initial invasion and immediately following.

For the M119A1, Mouse House of Australia does one in resin, here is the link. Looks good, but again, resin = pricey. I haven't seen it in person, nor heard any reviwes on it.
MH M119A1

Bottom line, AFV Club M102A1 can be used in OIF in an Army NG unit.

Hope that clears it up.

Not sure who was fielded first, but that sounds right. It was probably either 101st ABN or 82nd ABN that got them first, then they were fielded to other light units.

The M119's were first deployed with the 7th I.D. in December 1989.

Hmm, I seem to recall a battery of M198s that got a rude, late night visit from my platoon...seems like they were the ones crying like B*&%$es . SOCEX in 97. Good Times. Good Times.

Besides, how hard is it to pull a string? ( Joking, I'm just joking...)
