congrats on finishing the campaign. May i know the maker of the KV-1 and the figurines. Nice layout and cammo job. Just one thing that i cant help to notice. In the last photo, what is that thing on the figure neck?? looks like some sort of sling bag ..

Silantra, The Tank is from PST, an Eastern European manufacturer, the figs are from Presier, a German company. All the figs where heavily reworked and the details resculpted as they were so soft. The "thing" around the figs neck is a blanket, many Soviet soldiers carried them, the fig on the tank has one as well.

The grass is silflor, a model railroad grass matt product.

Thats a great job on your little dio i really like the paint job on the KV-1 i have never seen this before, its a nice change from the usual Russian green.

Awesome work Sticky..I really like scene. The tank looks great. Cammo job is very nice.Airbrush?? The groundwork is very nice also. Almost thought it was Heki grass for a minute. Great Job!

The grass looks great, but my one comment is if the weight of the tank is digging into the grass, shouldnt there be some grass stuck into the treads along the top run and at the ends?

nice effect with the longer grass though, which type is it? By that I mean what color and what length?

MLD the grass is the 8mm fall field grass with weeds.

Here is what I was thinking when I didn't put grass on the tracks: Its mid September on the Steppes, I would suspect that the earth is fairly well dried and hard by now. The tank is just crushing the grass down, not chewing up the earth, thus I don't think there would be much grass stuck to the tracks.

John ...every time I look at this dio I have to remember it is 1/72 scale and not 1/35th good job and great balance to your display. Never seen this camo before but like someone else said it makes a change from Russian green!

Thanks for the praise. I will not say it was an easy project for these 'ol eyes, and I'm not sure how many more 1.72 projects I have left in me. Stuff we take for granted in 1.35, in Braille is a whole another ball of wax!
