Hi Joe,
I'm no sherman expert but shouldn't the stars be white? Overall I like the paintjob. Have you done it via an airbrush or handpainted? looks pretty cool though.
Thanks for sharing

Hi Joe,
Looks like you've done a very nice job. I'm a Sherm-a-holic in training,so, what's the tank on the rear deck?
Keep them Shermans a rolling.

many thanks.
yes i believe the stars are normally white also. but on this subject i found black stars as the only markings. the od was sprayed, i then drybrushed faded olive drab and aluminum. when i finished that i did a very panel line specific wash. i finished off with a overall wash for the brown effect.
the tank is, as told to me, a water tank. i build a/c mostly so when the directions called for this part on an armor build i didnt second guess it.

White stars made for a great target so Stars were black or painted over as the Japanese were good marksman so why make it easy.

Joe, nice "Hog". Go check out : www.hardscorpsmodels.com for some more moto. Lots of USMC WWII tank and Amtrac photos, some color. The water tank was formrerly a fuel tank for a Stewart. They added a hose and valve and put them on the tanks later in the campaign. That way the earthpigs, grunts and crunchies(pick one)could top off their canteens between daily/scheduled/routine(pick one) resupplies by the ol' company Gunny. Out here.
