Am currently undertaking a diorama featuring Tamiya's Type 90, Trumpeter's Type 87 command vehicle and a few other bits and pieces.
I am planning to incorporate some signs into the background and was hoping that someone out there had information on what sort of signs can be found in JGSDF field training areas. Things like directional signs to various ranges and firing points, speed limit signs and warning signs etc.
Would also need the Japanese Kanji translations for these signs.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

vihuri- I expect that the speed limits will be as we know them, ie. share the same digits, and directional signs would also be the same with arrows etc. save for any Jap. text. I'm sure you could search the web for translation once you get the info regarding what signs are available... Hope this helps...

おはよございます

..which you probably shouldn't use, it means "Good morning" or something... I'll see what I can find for you!

Nobody from Japan on the board?

Vihuri-
went looking through my photos from when I was in Japan a couple of years back during a military exercise hoping I'd find something for you, but no luck, sorry.
Got a couple of pics of the base from a second story window, but don't think that's going to fit the bill.
Think I may have some pamphlets downstairs i'll check tomorrow and post if I find anything significant.

Here's a couple of websites that may be of use that I 'googled':
Asia Pacif Defense Forum
Logistics at Yama Sakura 43 This is an annual military exercise conducted in Japan in conjunction with U.S. Forces called Yama Sakura (do a google search for it, come up with like 10 pages).
Japanese Road Signs

Hope it helps

Oh, I've got a "warning mine field' sign picture, but it's in Korean if you want me to send it to you.

Thanks for the replies.
Out of interest I did find a that might be useful
It gives you both the english and japanese script translation for whatever word you type into the search engine.
website is: suteki.nu/translator
Might be of use considering the amount of modern Japanese armor on the market at the moment.
