I couldn't find pictures of M1A2 in Kuwaiti bi-colors (sand with a few dark green stripes) and M1A1HA in tan, brown and black. Please, help me find those pictures.

Haven't seen any in the schemes you describe. Probably 99% of M1s are either 3-Color NATO camo or Desert Sand. There were some exprimental schemes early on, but there aren't may pics out there of them.

Here is a new Kuwaiti BMP-3 in brown/sand camo. Kuwauti M1A2 should be similar.

Thanks for your replies. Maybe it's really sand/brown scheme, after all. I have Italieri's M1A2 booklet that shows 'U.S. Army Central Command Kuwait' in sand and dark green. Ppl at Italieri possibly had it wrong. Dragon's 1/74 M1A1 or M1A1HA is in sand or tan, brown and black. Epi, I would like to see that tank in your signature much closer. It's tiny for me to look at.

Let me see if I can still find the picture. This signature block was made a while back. I'll post it when I find it.

Found it! I had to dig through some old photo's but i found it. Yup that is me in front of it, about 50 lbs lighter and 11 years younger.

This track was drawn from NTC. Gino is there now and might know if they are still some painted this way. Im sorry, this was back in 94'.

Here is the model that I built from the picture (well not quit, its a little different). The article for the build can be found in the Armor features.

No, none out here are painted like that any more. First few times (95-96) I was here as a player there were some still that way. Actually, now units bring most of their combat vehicles (M1s, M2s, M109A6s) and draw wheels. The ones that are still in the draw grid are all sand. We do have some camo ones in the CA ANG MATES training set here. There are still some MERDC paint jobs among the CA ANG wheeled fleet too, some really rough looking pieces of equipment.

We have some M1 vismods that are painted in dark brown and sand. They are kalled K1s, for Krasnovian, the ficticious enemy here. They have the track shrouds removed, 55 gal drums on the back, camo netting on the barrel for a thermal shroud, a spot light next to the tueb, etc. to make them look sort of like an old soviet tank.
Here are a couple of examples.

Epi,

I was looking at your features. I was amazed at your skills not only on tank but also figures. Do you have draw line of NTC desert scheme?

Sorry Salt, I just winged it on the camo job on that one. I kinda used the picture as a reference. What you can basically do is use the NATO 3 tone camo and just replace the NATO Green with Desert Tan. The NATO Black and Brown would stay the same, although I would use a darker brown instead of the NATO Brown.

Gino,
I like the vismod's on the Abrams. That wouldnt be to hard to convert. As a matter of fact, I wasnt planning on using the "new" Academy Iraqi M1A1, just use it for parts. I think I am going to use it and convert it to a vismod.
