I am looking for pictures of the inside of the bonnet of a M1025/M1026 Humvee. I already have a few pics of the inside of a bonnet of the M988 cargo humvee with the wide screen but I am looking for the armament variant
Can anyone help ?

Thanks in advance,
Marc

As I posted to same question at Missing-Lynx, interior of the hood (bonnet) is the same on all HMMWV varients, only the grill is different.

Thanks Gino,

I know but that's the problem. I don't know what the "inside" of the grill looks like When I can get enough info I would like to build my humvee with an opened hood.

cheers,
Marc

That is the point, the grill is no different on them. The grill looks the same on the inside as the outside. It is simply bolted into the square opening in the hood. Some have a mesh screen on the inside as well, some don't.

Marc, are you planning on putting the CMK resin engine inside? The good news is, it's a pretty good model and adds a lot.

The bad news is, it requires a little bit of "finessing" to make it fit.

The other question would be do you plan on a static hood up display, or a "working" hood that closes over the engine?

I've done the latter on both the Hummers I've built and that really requires a lot of work. I had to compromise and leave off all of the "stiffening beads" which are the structural "ribs" on the inside of the real vehicle which add stiffness to the hood.

I have some photos of the inside of the hood which show the additional screen on the inside as well as the stiffening beads, but they're not digital. I'll have to try and scan them and email them to you if you want.

Here's how I did the screen on my M1025, but there aren't any beads as you can't get the hood to close over the engine with them.
