This is my KV1 in progress. Base kit is Tamiya's KV2, the turret is a Mig Resin Conversion set.
Top Picture is during construction. The rest are after the basic color and some highlighting was added (Vallejo ModelAir, Russan Green) The first wash has been added (using a light, oil wash) next will be the first (light) highlighting using base color lightened with Vallejo sand + white...Jim

Neat conversion that looks good so far, Jim.
It looks like there is some sort of light tan spots, almost like overspray, on some parts of the model? It may just be the pictures, though. I don't know about the tow cable on the right side. It looks like the way it is stowed there might be a chance of it interfering with the gun tube?
Just a couple of thoughts.
Nice build. Thanks for the pics.

Looks good sofar Jim. I suppose you took the photos while the washes were still drying? Because there are some 'wet' spots on the model.
What has happened with the rear deck? The oil spot I mean
Can't wait to see it finished.

Jurjen, the 'oil spot' is actually a wash which has had to be 'lightened'
Shaun, yes there was a light 'overspray'. That should be corrected with the first highlighting...Jim

Jim ..Great start ...This is where the fun begins with the painting and the weathering ...Only thing I would watch out for is to make sure you add a spot of mud on that square between your second and third return roller ...You forgot to sand that attachement point for the batteries on this old kit...nothing to worry about.
keep up the good work
