Hi all,

I want to do a nice conversion in the future, either a Sherman M4A4 dozer or Crab. If I'm gonna buy a Dozer it will be the trakz kit, so now I want to find out what my options are on the Crab.

I found out Resicast had a Crab conversion:

Now I've got 2 questions:

1- I can't find any reviews. How's the quality of this kit?

2- Are there any more crab conversions?

Thanks!
Martin

This is the Resicast kit made on the Dragon M4A4:

The chains are tricky but otherwise it's a good build for a resin conversion.

Bryan,

Could you also tell me what excactly is in the box? On the pic, I see not only Crab parts, but also an alu barrel, resin wheels, new tracks, a bike.....does this all come with the kit?

I was thinking about this kit but when I looked at the chains they are the more uncommon type seen on early models (I do know of a picture of one in sevice in Europe) The more common type of chain looks more like bicycle chain that gets thicker at the ends (three links wide where they hit the ground)These chains stayed straigher and didn't get all mixed together as it happened with the ordinary ball and chains .

Rick, the chains in the current issue of the Resicast kit are the 'bicycle chain' type.

Too bad. I just emailed Resicast but I got a reply the kit is no longer available. It is now retooled, and the updated and retooled kit will be released in September at it's earliest.

If you can get one, let me know, as they aren't available anymore lol

btw. if I understand correctly there is NO alternative (so I have to wait till later this year and hope it doesn't get too expensive)

Or does someone know a place where they are still available?

Reb, thanks for the links. I send the shops emails to find out what their shipping costs are. If they're not too high, I may order them there!

Hollowpoint, check your pm!

Thanks all!

I picked up the Coree Productions kit off of E-bay. Just building up the courage to put it together. I believe it has the early chains. I f you need some ref pics I have a few of a Crab at the Worthington Museum. Nice closeups of the details.
You can just near have too many Shermans!
