Dragon 251/6 Ausf.C with Dragon Kettenrad & Eduard PE. Base polyfilla, I have to grass this yet, with mud in the middle. Something has to go in the bottom right? Fuel drum? Comments welcome.

WOW!
1. Great rust stains. Not too thick. I like how the paint color still shows through.
2. Tracks look good too.
3. The pose of the figures looks real and natural--the radioman with his hand over the headset, the guy with his hand on the edge and his head turned, the two officers arguing(?)
Not much to nit-pick from where I'm sittin'.
1. The uniforms look a bit shiney. Could be the flash and/or photos.
2. The wash on the figures seems too dark. Again, could be the photos.
3. Ketten headlight is angled up to high(?) Are they using it for a spotlight?
Got a few questions for ya:
I know deserts get there fair share of rain, but how much rust did the vehicles accumulate in north Africa?
What are you using for sand?
How are you going to paint the sand?
Mud flaps on the ketten are a nice touch. What are they/were did you get them?
Oil drums, are good. Rocks perhaps?
Looking forward to seeing it progress. Keep us posted.

Keith, thanks for the comments. The uniforms do look a bit shiny on the pics, and although it's slightly an artifact of the picture, I am having trouble with matt coats lately. No matter how much I stir, or which brand I use, It's never as flat as I would like it? The wash on the figures is more pronounced in the pics and doen't look as dark, and I take your point about the headlight on the kett.
Delbert, Thanks mate, It's going to be a grassy area though, no sand whatsoever?

Looks good so far.
For the bottom right corner, how about a sign post with a figure standing next to it scratching his head and holding a map, as though they are lost???? :-)

Hi Vinnie,
The models look great, as for the corner how about a well or something alont those lines, doesn't have to be a fancy well, on the flat coats, buy a cheap hair dryer, warm up your model before you spray the flat coat on and after you spray the flat coat on it. Use a medium setting on the hair dryer and hold it about 6-8 inches from the model. I promise, it will work and won't melt anything. Take a look at my finished models in my gallery I have been using the hair dryer since I read the article in Historical Miniatures about the crock pot for flat finishes, I figured since you can't put a plastic model in the crockpot a hair dryer should give me about the same result. Hope this helps.
Regards,
Robert

Vinnie, how about a small tree or shrub for the empty area you spoke of. Figs and vehicles look great. "Q"
