I know that this has been covered to a degree before but I'm looking for feedback on those that have gone this route as well as technical input.

Meijers (Midwestern discount chain) has a compressor on sale for $82, its' specs are:

2HP
8 Gal.
125psi max
3.2 cfm @ 40psi
2.1cfm @ 90psi

Also has the safety features of overtemp shutoff and pressure shutoff.

Is a big unit like this a pain, too noisy (I have a basement), adequate for the job etc.??

Thanks for the input.

It may be a little loud but will definitely get the job done- more than you ask for.. I actually have two compressors, a $100 one from Home Depot that I use for airbrushing and other home stuff like inflating and nailing, and a little Testor one I bought from Wal Mart for $50. Both have been excellent for airbrushing. I use the little one when I am upstairs and don't want to wake everyone up.
Check out the Home Depot's web site, too b/c $79 Husky one they have over there may be more quiet than what you're thinking of.

Thanks! I'll look at Home Depot also.

I am anxious to get something!
