Shortly, the first two of Skybow''s 1/48th scale Armor releases will be available to buy. As a ''taster'' of what you can epect, we have published a report on the two new kits... Both are Tiger 1s (early & late) and if the photos are anything to go by, some very special kits are going to be produced... The full story, can be seen:

Be interesting to see if they do there Dodge WC series in this scale. Also another thought is that their 1/35 kits were quite expensive so I wonder how 'over the top' the 1/48 pricing will be?

Simply they can't. The moulds were sold, not leased to AFV Club..Jim

The 1/35 scale molds were Jim. If you read my post properly you will see I am talking about 1/48 scale WC dodges and not their 1/35th scale ones!

That's exacty what I thought you meant - and I thought about them scaling down the original models as I assume this is what Tamiya has done.... Since Skybow has 30+ kits to come, I'm sure we'll see something...Jim

The quality and detail looks really good from what I can see.
I wonder what the other 30 odd releases are going to be?

With the 30 odd kits from Skybow, and the Tamiya kits in this scale, and the new PE sets from Hauler.... is this the beginning of a revolution? A new phase of the modelling evolution?

Seems like not to far off in the near future, you can go into a hobby shop, with a young kid working there, and ask for a 1/35 scale model, and he or she will ask you what are you talking about.
1/48 is finally making it's move, and it seems to be doing a fine job, with offering things that wasn't available in 1/35, like the multi bank engine for the Sherman, and that is just one of the things I noticed so far.
