hi,
I wondered how people make ammunition shells that lie on the floor,gras,dirt after a gun has been fired (mp40,98k, etc)?
my guess is by clyping wire but if you clip wire it'll have a kind of a sharp point on it and it would be too small to sand it, thus it won't look like a fired bullet shell.
also how does one adhere or attach these shells on the scenery, because I also see them sometimes laying admidst grass and all.
very curious on these anwers...

I have done it two ways. First, like you said, clipping brass wire. The second way you might try is using stretched sprue. Stretch it, paint it brass color and cut it to length. If you get the length and diameter reasonably close it looks ok.
