Kevin, as we say in The Netherlands: this dio is so great, it has to be forbidden!
But seriously; and as I mentioned in earlier posts, it's a great dio!! I like the idea off getting the fuel from the Sherman.
Actually it's a fact that some days before the start of the Offensive (and Operation Greiff), Americans captured German scouts that had rubber hoses on them to collect every drip of fuel they can get in the neighbourhood. They where instructed for this by their command, so this also (as allready often mentioned in above posts) absolutely convinsable and proven that during the AO both German and Americans used gasoline(in German: benzine).
However, the problem with diesel did occured, but on the Eastern Front (far away from Ardenner hills) because the Russians allready used diesel in their own manufactured tanks and AFV's. One of the main reasons was the bether prefromance in Russian weather. Germans vehicles running out of benzine could not use the Russian diesel.

Kevin have some faith in yourself... I do. You can handle the snow, I have seen you while you work. Take your time, keep up your "expirements". Use the "kiss" method, I don't think you have to cover the whole thing in snow. Just a bit... The ground work is good and you don't want to take that all a way, but I am confident that thew snow you add will only enhance the work you have already done. No worries my friend you will do well!

First, Robert, Robert, Ian, Costas, Paul, and Paul thanks for the comments on my work. I really appreciate the posetive feedback. Also thank you Mary and Robert on the info on the hetzer. Ian any help I can give I am glad too Costas, I will keep the pastels in mind for the final weathering. Paul, thanks for the info on the ardennes offensive. I felt the fuel issue was the most important part of the whole offensive. I am glad to see others see it this way too. Paul and for everyone else wondering. The snow has been started. Will have pics up this weekend I hope. Cheers Kevin

I'm seriously impressed by this dio. The groundwork is really good, that's what impresses me most. It has the 'atmosphere' right.

Rich and Vinnie thanks for the comments. I really appreciate them. I spent a good part of last night snowing on the diorama and have to say I don't think it looks to bad. Maybe later today I will get some pics posted as I think its finished now. Again thanks to everyone that took the time to check out this thread. Cheers Kevin
