The title comes from the fact that I'm posting this two days before St. George's Day.
It's 2015, and the British Army has been so reduced by spending cuts, and by the death of manufacturing industries in the UK; that it's almost totally reliant on second-hand vehicles and the few remaining Territorial Army units to protect it's own shores.
The ever greedier European Superstate has taken advantage of this situation to try and bring Britain into line by means of force.
This 2nd hand Type87 (bought through Autotrader Online) has been strengthened by stealing a 105mm gun & .50 from an exhibit at Bovington Tank Museum and now forms the last defence above the beach at Hastings where the last successful invaders of our shores landed.

Is that the Trumpeter Type 87 kit???? If so, I didn't know that it was out yet. I may have to have a talk with my supplier, as he told me that they weren't available yet, and would be late may before he got them.

It's that Trumpeter kit ok, it's in most of the online shops in the UK. A bit of a disappointment compared to their latest WW2 kits, more similar to their earlier efforts.

Joe - the story was written a bit 'tongue in cheek', but the way things are going at the moment who knows!
(sorry if anyone else sees this as a politcal comment - it's not meant to offend!)

That is a great lookin vehicle I'd hate to be inside of it when that gun goes off :-)

It'd be a bit cramped in the turret as well Chad, but then hopefully it'd be effective as well - afterall it is supposed to be the 'last vehicle of the last unit'.

Thanks Dave. The story actually came along first, when T2K2005 was first announced. I was considering an ex-Bovington exhibit brought up to date. Then I saw this kit and it all fell together. And the proxinity of St.George's day at the time I finished the build...!
